Where does the Evolutionary Rag album come from?

Just listening to this newest album Evolutionary Rag pulls the impressions out of the mental "feed" and channels them to penetrate for a much deeper impact. And listening with a group adds more attention and force to "the trip."

This album is a transmission from the "Meadow Vista era" of the School when 75 people (including children) lived together in a 2 story building. The top floor was a totally open space with a small half bathroom. The bottom floor had a small kitchen, full bathroom with a bathtub on legs, a small dining area and 4 rooms that could be used for office space.

Night after night, we ate together, and something subtle would begin to unfold. E.J. held the space like a conductor — a maestro.

He could start the evening with unusual literary references or esoteric trivia or hilarious jokes. Sometimes even simply amplifying a small drama happening in the present regardless of anyone's upset or embarrassment, would open the way for gently guiding us into invocational realms where our focus deepened and merged, carrying us in a kind of shared intensity that lasted for hours. We were as if sliding down a timeless water slide into a pool in another dimension. And the lights would burn long past when the night could have ended.

Addressing questions about the Work or the obstacles that arise when aspiring to be a candidate for the Work, E.J., while telling stories and relating ideas, wove a tapestry — creating images and exercises for us to digest and assimilate into our daily lives as best we could.

He called our meeting space the Angelic Embassy. And from there the "Fourth Way Folk Songs" were born. This new album reprises 24 of those songs in a musical style that transports one to a space of clarity and truth.

Listening repeatedly to the whole sequence, a designed experience, may allow for some interesting internal shifts. As E.J. states in his blog on March 29, 2026 entitled "Hypno Trance Dance," "Call it hypno-trance-dance, call it voluntary induction, call it Music Medicine — it’s all pointing to the same mechanism. You are not forcing yourself to change. You are entering a state in which the change is already natural."
