Archive Preservation Project
Thanks to your generous contribution (and we know who you are)
and a quite bit of research, the equipment for the archival film recording preservation got in this week and work began.
What a diffenence in quality. You'll love the results.
Here just some pics from the first day of work...one of many, for sure.
E.J. adjusting each individual master on the TBC
It's interesting how this works.
A 3/4 inch video deck plays into a TBC (Time Base Control), a unit that allows digital enhancement and correction of the signal, which then goes from the TBC into the DVCAM where it is recorded as a digital master tape. It gets daisy chained into a DVD recorder and gets recorded as a DVD.
This digital master DVD will be duplicated as needed. The duplicate DVD gets a label printed on with this printer, packaged and voila, it becomes available for you.
What a difference
Here the equipment
Thanks again everyone who helped with this!
Uncanny how EJ manages to reflect an expression
